About the Show
From the outrageous imagination of Charles Ludlam, author of The Mystery of Irma Vep, comes a delightfully absurd comedy of love, lust, and psychoanalysis.
Two married psychiatrists are each having an affair with one of the other's patients, who just so happen to be married to each other. As secrets unravel and neuroses collide, therapy sessions spiral into chaos. Packed with razor-sharp wit, campy humor, and Ludlam's signature flair for the ridiculous, Reverse Psychology is a fast-paced farce where everyone needs help and no one has the answers.
About the Playright
Charles Ludlam (1943–1987) was an actor, director, playwright, and founder of the legendary theatrical company, the Ridiculous Theatrical Company. A pioneering force in American avant-garde theater, Ludlam blended high culture and low comedy, creating works that were at once sophisticated, outrageous, and deeply entertaining. His best-known play, The Mystery of Irma Vep, has become a modern cult classic. Through parody, camp, and fearless theatricality, Ludlam helped redefine what comedy could be on the American stage.
